Read This Exclusive Review of Amazon Kindle Touch Before You Give One for a Gift This Year!

The Amazon Kindle Touch is one of two new Kindles released by Amazon for the holiday season. The other, Kindle Fire, has said to be in direct competition with the iPad 2 and similar tablets. The Kindle Touch is a little less of an "all you can do" tablet and more of an e-reader like the original Kindles. If you know someone that enjoys reading, this generation may be a perfect gift for Christmas 2011.

This version of the Kindle offers a sleek design that is smaller and lighter than the previous Kindles. This is likely due to the fact that there is no QWERTY keyboard located just beneath the screen. It still offers the same 6 inch e ink pearl display as it predecessors; therefore it can be slimmer in size. The Kindle Touch weighs 7.5 ounces while the Touch 3G weighs 7.8 ounces.

The battery of the Kindle Touch can last up to two months if the wireless is kept off. If it is left on, you can see up to six weeks battery life on a single charge. The actual amount, of course, will vary based on how much you use the Touch for reading, browsing the Kindle store, and downloading content to the device. It takes approximately four hours to completely charge the Touch's battery.

Is the Amazon Kindle Touch Worth It?

If you already have a Kindle, then the upgrade to the Touch *may* not be worth it to you. That is, of course, unless you really want to experience a touchscreen version of the device. It is smaller and lighter than previous versions, and would be the ideal choice if you do not yet own a Kindle...or want to share the convenience of an e-Reader with someone this holiday season.

The Amazon Kindle Touch is available as low as , and is now available for pre-order. It will be released for sale on November 21, 2011. If you are looking for more than just a device in which to store and read content, you may want to check out the Kindle Fire, also available on November 21, for just 9.
